WELSH CAKES
3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
8 oz currnts
1 tsp baking soda
8 oz Crisco
1 tsp salt
1 egg
milk to bind

Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening.
Mix with blended milk and egg.
Cut into rounds or squares.
Cook on 350 griddle for 5 minutes each side until brown.
