Praline Pecan Crunch
1-16 oz. pkg. Quaker oat squares (8 cups)
2 cups pecan pieces (I have used peanuts)
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Heat oven 250 degrees. Combine cereal and pecans in 13 x
9 pan. Set
aside.
Combine corn syrup, brown sugar and margarine in a 2 cup
micro-bowl.
Micro
at high 1-1/2 min. stir and micro at high 1/2 to 1-1/2 min.
or until
boiling. Remove.
Stir in vanilla and baking soda, then pour over cereal mix,
stir to coat
evenly.
Bake 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Spread on baking
sheet to cool,
then break into pieces and store in covered container.
